COLOMBO (News 1st): D.S. de Silva, the former Sri Lankan Leg Spinner who played the Inaugural Test in 1982, has passed away in London, at the age of 83.
De Silva, who made significant contributions to Sri Lankan cricket, captained the national side in two Test matches during his playing career.
He has represented Sri Lanka in 12 Test matches and 41 One Day Internationals.
After retiring from active play, he continued to serve the sport as a coach, team manager, and member of the national selection committee.
Additionally, he also served as the president of Sri Lanka Cricket from 2009 to 2011.
