Islandwide Disaster Death Toll Rises To 390; 352 Missing

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) confirmed that the number of fatalities reported due to the islandwide disaster situation has risen to 390 with 352 people confirmed to remain missing.

A total of 382,651 families, comprising 1,373,899 individuals, have been affected across the country.

Meanwhile, 204,597 people are currently sheltering in 1,368 safe centres.

Deaths: 88
Missing persons: 150
Affected Individuals: 20,064


Badulla District:

Badulla District has reported:
Deaths: 82
Displaced People: 23,777

Badulla District Secretary Prabath Abeywickrama confirmed that relief efforts are continuing uninterrupted for those in safe centres.

Nuwara Eliya District:

Nuwara Eliya District has reported:

Missing Persons: 62 

Matale District:

Matale District has recorded:
Deaths: 24 
Missing persons: 10 

Puttalam District:

Puttalam District has reported:

Number of Affected Individuals: 14,328 

Kegalle District:

Deaths: 22 
Missing Persons: 48 
Number of Affected Individual: Over 17,404.
