Over 1,000 Arrested in Sri Lanka’s Massive Anti-Drug Operation

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s sweeping anti-narcotics operation, “A Nation United,” witnessed the arrest of 1,038 suspects across the country, marking one of the largest single-day crackdowns in recent months.

Police confirmed that during these raids, authorities seized 517 grams of heroin and 798 grams of crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as ‘Ice’). 

According to officials, 16 suspects have already been remanded by court order, while 30 individuals have been referred for rehabilitation.
