Property Seized Over Illegal Funds In Matale

COLOMBO(News 1st); The Police said that a property seizure order has been issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for a house worth over Rs. 30 million in Kirimatiyawa, Matale.

According to police, investigations by the Matale Divisional Crime Investigation Department found that the house was built using illegally earned money.

Two residents of the house were recently arrested for drug possession and trafficking.

A 34-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were taken into custody with 5 grams and 567 milligrams of heroin.
