Sri Lanka & Gujarat Chambers Sign MoU

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka took a significant step toward strengthening economic ties with India as the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Ahmedabad yesterday.

The agreement aims to expand trade, investment, logistics cooperation, and B2B engagement between Sri Lanka and Gujarat, marking a new chapter in bilateral economic collaboration.

At the event, Shri Navroz Tarapore, Co-Chairman of GCCI’s International Trade Committee, presented GCCI’s vision and initiatives, while GCCI President Shri Sandeep Engineer emphasized the chamber’s role in building global business connections and expressed optimism about exploring opportunities with Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Mahishini Colonne, highlighted the deep cultural and maritime ties between Gujarat and Sri Lanka and the strategic importance of Mundra and Colombo ports. 

Shri Rakeshbhai Shah invited participation in the upcoming Sri Lanka Economic & Investment Summit scheduled for 2–3 December 2025 in Colombo.
