Three Vehicles Seized From Sampath Manamperi In Middeniya Drug Probe

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three vehicles belonging to Sampath Manamperi, who is currently in custody, were seized by the Middeniya police this morning.

The operation was carried out by officers from the Colombo North Crimes Division.

Police confirmed that a bus, a cab, and a luxury car were taken into custody. 

The cab had reportedly been used to transport cannabis, while the bus was used for passenger transport between Middeniya and Colombo.

The seizure was based on information obtained from Sampath Manamperi.

Manamperi, a former Pradeshiya Sabha member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, is being detained and questioned under a 90-day detention order in connection with investigations into a drug network operating in Middeniya.
