CBSL Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Amendments to Finance Business Act

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has called for public consultation on proposed amendments to the Finance Business Act, No. 42 of 2011 (FBA), aimed at strengthening the regulation and supervision of finance companies.

According to the CBSL, the proposed changes seek to enhance the investigation and prosecution of unauthorized finance business activities, as well as improve the resolution and winding up processes of non-viable finance companies.

Members of the public are invited to submit their views, suggestions, and comments on the draft amendments, which can be accessed through the CBSL website at www.cbsl.gov.lk.

Submissions can be sent via post, fax, or email on or before 30 November 2025.
