COLOMBO (News 1st): Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa met with the Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, during his official visit to India.
The meeting focused on several key factors, including the India-Sri Lanka partnership, regional stability, connectivity, and mutual prosperity.
According to the Opposition Leader's media division, strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, and infrastructure was also discussed.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also met with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla.
The discussions with the Speaker, focused on enhancing institutional professionalism, strengthening legislative research, and promoting youth participation in Parliament.
During his visit to India, the Leader of the Opposition visited the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in Pusa of New Delhi, and met Dr. Shashi Tharoor, a senior leader of the Indian Parliament and the Congress Party, in New Delhi.
