COLOMBO (News 1st): 35 Indian fishermen have been apprehended for engaging in illegal fishing activities in Sri Lankan waters.
According to Navy Spokesperson Commander Buddhika Sampath the arrests were made in the northern sea areas, specifically off the coasts of Kankesanturai and Chethlaike.
The Navy also seized four Indian fishing trawlers during the operation.
Commander Buddhika Sampath said that the arrests were made during a special search operation carried out last night (2nd).
