Six Reservoir Spill Gates Opened Due to Ongoing Rainfall

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Irrigation has opened the spill gates of six reservoirs following the continuous rainfall experienced across several regions.

According to the department, the spill gates of the Rajanganaya, Angamuwa, and Kala Wewa reservoirs in the Anuradhapura District, as well as the Deduru Oya reservoir in the Kurunegala District, have been opened.

Additionally, the spill gates of the Ibbankatuwa reservoir in the Matale District and the Polgolla reservoir in the Kandy District have also been released to manage rising water levels.
