Manusha Nanayakkara Appears Before Bribery Commission

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption this morning in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment of Sri Lankan workers for agricultural jobs in Israel.

Yesterday, Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama rejected an anticipatory bail application filed by Nanayakkara seeking conditional bail prior to his arrest by the Bribery Commission.

Nanayakkara’s counsel informed the court that his client would appear before the Commission today to provide a statement.
