COLOMBO (News 1st): The police constable who was arrested and remanded on suspicion of assaulting a lawyer within the Mount Lavinia Court premises has been released on bail.

He was produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court earlier today, where he was granted bail on two sureties of Rs. 100,000 each.

The court also directed that the matter be referred to the Mediation Board. The case is scheduled to be taken up again on November 14.
