Sri Lankan Individual Dies Under Suspicious Circumstances In Dubai

COLOMBO(News 1st); A Sri Lankan individual working in Sharjah, Dubai, has died under suspicious circumstances.

The deceased has been identified as Deelaka Perera, a 23-year-old from Kottunna.

Two days ago, he was found collapsed near an apartment building in Sharjah and later died in hospital after being admitted by the security forces. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Deelaka Perera, a former student of Bomiriya College, Kaduwela, had gone to Dubai for work about a year ago.

When contacted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that a post-mortem examination will be conducted on Monday.

However, as the death is considered suspicious, his relatives have requested the authorities to intervene and ensure a fair investigation is carried out.
