Bus Safety Checks Begin For Expressway Travel

COLOMBO(News 1st); A technical quality inspection program for buses operating on expressways has been launched.

The Ministry of Transport stated that the goal is to ensure passenger safety and reduce traffic accidents.

As a pilot project, several buses set to operate from Makumbura were inspected by technicians.

The Ministry added that quality certificates were issued for the inspected buses, and a sticker was placed on each bus to show it is fit for operation.

This program is planned to be expanded across the entire island in the future.
