COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police discovered the bodies of two individuals inside a local residence in the Seenimodara area of Tangalle on Monday (22) morning.
The discovery was made during a search operation launched after authorities received a tip-off.
According to police, a third individual who had been present at the house was admitted to hospital but later succumbed.
Investigations revealed that the owner of the house had recently sold the property to another individual, who had subsequently hired three workers to construct a boundary wall around the premises.
Police reports indicate that the workers had hosted an alcohol party at the house last night.
Following the gathering, one of the workers reportedly fell ill and was taken to hospital.
Acting on a notification from a relative of the hospitalized individual, police inspected the residence and found the two bodies.
During the search, officers also discovered approximately 10 kilograms of a substance suspected to be crystal methamphetamine (“ice”) inside the house.
Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident, focusing on the circumstances surrounding the deaths and the origin of the suspected narcotics.
