COLOMBO (News 1st); The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) filed indictments before the Colombo High Court against Ramitha Rambukwella, son of former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, over serious allegations of illicit asset accumulation.
According to the charges, Ramitha, who served as his father's private secretary, is accused of acquiring assets valued at over Rs. 270 million during the period from January 1, 2022, to September 9, 2023.
The Bribery Commission alleges that he failed to disclose the legitimate sources of income for these assets, which significantly exceed his lawful earnings during that time.
The indictment states that this conduct constitutes an offense under the Bribery Act.
