CIABOC Arrests Police Constable For Bribery

COLOMBO (News 1st); A police constable attached to the Karativu Police Station in Ampara has been arrested by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.
According to the Commission, the officer had taken the bribe from a businessman in exchange for not filing legal action regarding an income license issue.
The suspect is expected to be produced before the Sammanthurai Magistrate’s Court.
