Ella Bus Accident: 18 Injured Remain Hospitalized; Rs. 1M for Families of Crash Victims

COLOMBO(News 1st); The President’s Fund has decided to grant compensation of Rs. 1 million each to the families of those who lost their lives in the bus accident that occurred last night (04) on the Ella–Wellawaya main road.

The Department of Motor Traffic also announced that a special investigation has been launched into the accident that occurred on the Ella-Wellawaya road, near the 23rd kilometer post, resulting in 15 fatalities and 18 injuries.

Commissioner General of Motor Traffic Kamal Amarasinghe confirmed that two officers, including the Badulla District Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector, were sent to the scene. 

The officials are scheduled to conduct a full investigation and submit a report on the incident.
