Police Link Maligawatte Shooting to Gang Feud

COLOMBO (News 1st); A shooting that occurred in Maligawatta this (3) morning is believed to be the result of a clash between organized criminal gangs, according to police sources.

The victim, an employee at a local vehicle spare parts shop, sustained injuries after being shot by two unidentified individuals who arrived on a motorcycle. 

The assailants fled the scene immediately after opening fire.

Police confirmed that a T56 assault rifle was used in the attack. The injured individual is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
