New Jaffna Immigration Office Declared Open Under President's Patronage

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Jaffna Regional Office of the Department of Immigration and Emigration was declared open today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The new office, located within the Jaffna District Secretariat premises, is fully equipped with modern technology and facilities. With the number of passport applications in the Northern Province steadily increasing, the establishment of this office fulfills the need for a more accessible service point.

Marking the commencement of services in Jaffna, three passports were officially issued today.

Later, addressing a gathering of state officials at the Jaffna District Secretariat auditorium, President Dissanayake emphasized that political authorities and public officials must work together if the expectations of the people are to be met.

Meanwhile, construction of the new international cricket stadium in Jaffna was also launched this afternoon under the President’s patronage.
