Showers And Strong Winds Expected In Several Regions

COLOMBO (News 1st); Several spells of showers will occur in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
A few showers may occur in the Western and Northwestern provinces and the Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.

Strong winds of 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills and in the Northcentral and Northwestern provinces and in the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.

The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by strong winds.
