Nawinna Shooter Arrested In Kottawa

COLOMBO(News 1st); The suspect who shot and injured a man in Nawinna, Maharagama has been arrested.

Police said the suspect was arrested in Kottawa by the Western Province South Crime Division.

The arrested suspect is a 39-year-old resident of the Kiriwatthuduwa area.

Based on information he provided, police recovered a foreign-made shotgun and three 12-bore cartridges from his house.

The shooting took place on the night of the 6th, when two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire at a person near Nawinna Junction on the High Level Road before fleeing.

A 28-year-old resident of Kalubowila was injured in the incident.
