COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government has announced plans to install fingerprint scanning systems in all state institutions as part of a nationwide initiative to improve attendance monitoring and operational efficiency.
Minister Dr. Chandana Abeyratne stated that fingerprint scanners have already been installed in several government offices, including Divisional Secretariats. The move aims to streamline employee attendance tracking and reduce irregularities in reporting to duty.
The primary objective of the initiative is to ensure a disciplined and transparent system for recording employee arrivals and departures. Additionally, it seeks to minimize discrepancies and misuse related to attendance records.
