Parliamentary Administration to be Restructured Under Speaker’s Directive

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Steps have been taken to restructure the administrative framework of Parliament, following the directives of Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.

According to the Speaker’s Media Division, a committee comprising four former Ministry Secretaries has been appointed to carry out the restructuring process.

The move aims to address several long-standing issues faced by the Parliamentary staff, including delays in promotions and matters related to salaries and other benefits.

The Media Division further stated that the committee’s final report is expected to be handed over to the Speaker within the coming days.
