The three-wheeler used by the gunman who shot a youth in Boralesgamuwa has been recovered.
Police said the vehicle was found abandoned near the Bokundara Economic Center.
Investigations into the incident are being conducted by three separate police teams.
The shooting was carried out at around 12:30 a.m. yesterday, when two youths, returning home after attending a carnival, were fired upon by an unknown assailant in a three-wheeler.
A 21-year-old from Mount Lavinia died at the scene, while a 27-year-old man sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.
Police have identified the shooter as 'Sandro', reportedly an associate of organized criminal 'Badowita Asanka'.
Authorities also suspect that the deceased youth was an accomplice of a criminal named 'Kos Malli', who is involved in drug trafficking.
