COLOMBO (News 1st): All postal employees have decided to launch a strike from midnight today.
The Joint Postal Trade Union Front (JPTU) announced that employees of the Central Mail Exchange will commence their strike from 4 p.m. until midnight today (17).
This decision is linked to 19 demands, including concerns over overtime payments and the use of fingerprint scanners to record attendance.
This development comes as all postal employees’ leave has already been cancelled.
In addition, since last morning, postal workers have been engaged in a separate trade union action by withdrawing from overtime duties.
