90% of Pension Arrears Cleared, Remaining to Be Settled This Month

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government reports that approximately 90% of pension arrears have now been resolved.

Minister Dr. Chandana Abeyratne stated that the remaining 10% is expected to be cleared within this month. 

Those affected will receive their outstanding payments along with their pensions next month.

The settlement of pension arrears follows a decision made in the last budget, and many eligible pensioners received their payments last month as part of the initial phase.
