Sri Lanka’s Exports Hit USD 8.3B in 2025 First Half

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s export sector has shown strong momentum in the first half of 2025, with total earnings reaching USD 8.33 billion, marking a 6.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Export Development Board (EDB).

The growth reflects notable progress across both merchandise and services exports, with June alone contributing USD 1.46 billion, an 8.73% year-on-year increase.

Merchandise exports in June 2025 rose by 6.85%, totaling USD 1.15 billion.

From January to June, merchandise exports reached USD 6.5 billion, up 5.86% from the previous year.

Services exports for June were estimated at USD 309.61 million, a 16.38% increase.

Overall services exports for the first half of 2025 are estimated at USD 1.83 billion, reflecting a 9.78% growth.
