COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Department of Immigration and Emigration urges the public not to pay brokers to submit passport applications or to speed up the process.
It also reminds people not to give money to brokers operating inside or outside the department premises, emphasizing that passport fees must be paid only at the counter, and that an official receipt should be collected.
The department further advises the public to obtain the receipt only from the passport issuing counter.
It also notes that token cards for both regular and one-day passport services are currently issued daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
