Foreign Ministry To Repatriate Sri Lankans in Israel & Iran

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is paying close attention to the requests made by Sri Lankan workers in Israel and Iran who wish to return to the island.

This follows the recent escalation of hostilities between the two countries, which has led to the closure of both Israeli and Iranian airspaces.

The Ministry stated that arrangements will be made to repatriate Sri Lankan workers once the airspaces are reopened.

In the meantime, several special telephone numbers have been introduced for Sri Lankans in those countries to contact the respective embassies in case of emergencies.
