Woman Shot Dead by Husband in Medagama Following Domestic Dispute

COLOMBO (News 1st): A 38-year-old woman was shot and killed along Balagasara Road in Medagama, allegedly by her husband following a prolonged domestic dispute.

In response to a report of an injured woman lying by the roadside, Sri Lanka Police arrived at the scene and discovered the victim with gunshot wounds. 

Even though she was immediately rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed that she had already succumbed to her injuries, upon admission.

According to police, the shooting was carried out using a locally manufactured firearm. 

The suspect, who had fled the scene after the incident, is currently being pursued, and investigations are underway to apprehend him.
