COLOMBO (News 1st) -

Two suspects were arrested in Kadawatha for allegedly selling vehicles obtained on rent using forged documents.

The suspects, residents of Maligawatta and Horana, were apprehended while traveling in a three-wheeler.

Police seized 23.6 grams of ICE (crystal methamphetamine), a fake temporary driving license, a forged national identity card, two newly registered vehicle number plates, and five mobile phones from the posession of the suspects.

Investigations revealed that the duo contacted vehicle rental services, acquired vehicles under false pretenses, forged ownership documents, and sold the vehicles.

A warrant had already been issued against one of the suspects by the Horana Magistrate’s Court for a similar offense.

Police say the suspects had carried out fraudulent activities across Anuradhapura, Borella, Panadura, Moragahahena, and Wellampitiya.
