PUCSL to Announce Second Electricity Tariff Revision of the Year This Week

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that the second electricity tariff revision for the year will be officially released within this week.

Director of Communications at PUCSL, Jayanath Herath stated that the review process is currently in its final stages, with most of the necessary assessments already completed.

As part of the process, public consultations were recently held in response to a proposal submitted by the Ceylon Electricity Board.

The CEB has proposed an 18.3% increase in electricity tariffs. However, the board has clarified that this proposed rate is still 5.4% lower than the tariff implemented in January this year.
