COLOMBO (News 1st): The Colombo High Court has decided that further hearings in the high-profile case against Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne, alias Harak-Kata, a notorious drug trafficker and organized crime figure, will be scheduled for July 15, 2025.
The case, filed by the Attorney General, accuses Wickramaratne of forcibly entering a residence in Mulleriyawa in 2015, issuing death threats, and robbing the occupants of cash and valuables.
The hearing, originally set for today, was deferred after Deputy Solicitor General Sudarshana de Silva, who is leading the prosecution, was unable to appear in court due to special official duties. This was communicated to the court by the state counsel.
Taking the circumstances into account, High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe ordered that the examination of further evidence be rescheduled for mid-July.
