Police Receive 363 Complaints Related To Violation Of Election Laws

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police have received 363 complaints related to violation of Election laws.

Of these, 95 complaints are related to criminal offences.

35 Candidates have been arrested since the announcement of the Local Government elections on the 3rd of March.

Additionally, 155 supporters have also been arrested.

Police added that 20 complaints related to violation of election laws have been received during the past 24 hours.

The local government elections are scheduled to take place on May 6.
