COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Transport Commission says that there will be no revision in bus fares despite the recent reduction in diesel prices.

Acting Director General Naomi Jayawardena says that the difference between the fuel price at the time of the previous fare adjustment and the current price has already been accounted for. Since the variation is less than 4%, a change in fares has not been considered.

Since midnight yesterday, the price of Auto Diesel was reduced by Rs. 12, bringing the new price to Rs. 274 per liter. Super Diesel was reduced by Rs. 6, with the new price set at Rs. 325 per liter.

Additionally, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) announced that the price of a liter of Octane 92 petrol was reduced by Rs. 6 to Rs. 293 per liter, while Octane 95 petrol was reduced by Rs. 20, bringing the new price to Rs. 341 per liter.

Meanwhile, All Island Three Wheeler Drivers Union says that there will be no revision in three-wheeler fares despite the reduction in petrol prices.
