Railways Strike: 20 Morning Trains Cancelled

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Railways announced the cancellation of 20 office trains scheduled to operate in the morning due to an ongoing strike initiated by a group of train drivers.

Deputy General Manager of Railways, N. J. Indipolage, stated that a discussion with the train drivers' trade union members will take place today at 12 noon at the Ministry of Transport.

The strike, now in its fourth day, is rooted in various issues, including salary disputes and lack of promotions and recruitment.
