Four Arrested in Pettah for Selling Harmful Cosmetics

COLOMBO (News 1st); In an operation led by the Valana Anti-Corruption Unit, four individuals were arrested today for allegedly selling cosmetics containing harmful chemical compounds.

The arrests were made during a raid on four shops within the Second Cross Street area of Pettah. 

Authorities confiscated a total of 1,143 cosmetic products suspected of containing these dangerous substances.

The four apprehended individuals, ranging in age from 22 to 52, hail from Kalagedihena, Moratuwa, and Wattala. They are currently detained while investigations proceed.
