COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's State Minister of Defence Premitha Bandara Tennakoon told Parliament on Thursday (24) that the government has not received any information from any overseas intelligence service with regard to the country's national security, or racial tensions.
He added that the government cannot keep responding to various rumors, and comments posted on Facebook over such matters.
The State Minister told Parliament that the country's intelligence services have observed that certain groups in certain areas with political backing are attempting to incite racial tensions.
He said the government, and the security forces, are focusing on these groups.
