Welimada Bus Accident: 1 Dead, 20 Injured

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Another tragic accident occurred in Welimada last night (10), claiming the life of one and injuries to 20 others.

Police said the accident occured when a passenger bus traveling from Bandarawela to Welimada lost control, veered off the road, and plunged into a precipice.

The victim who lost his life has been identified as a 56-year-old resident of Haddawula, Welimada.

Police said preliminary investigations revealed that excessive speed and reckless driving were the primary causes of the crash.
