5200 university teachers resign

COLOMBO (News 1st) - According to the Federation of University Teachers' Association (FUTA), more than 5200 university teachers have left their positions.
FUTA Spokesperson Senior Lecturer Charudatta Ilangasinghe says that this was revealed via a survey that was conducted.
In response to the concerning situation, Minister of State for Higher Education Suren Raghavan told News 1st that he is prepared to discuss the matter in the following week.
The Minister of State adds that he plans to contact State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Treasury Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena, and the Federation of University Teachers' Association (FUTA) to address the issue.
