Dengue deaths rise to 34, cases surge

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The number of deaths attributed to dengue fever has reached 34. In the first two weeks of this month alone, 3,883 new cases have been reported, adding to the alarming total of 53,203 cases reported this year, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.

The Western Province has been heavily affected, with the highest number of patients, totalling 26,490 cases.
