COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited says that if the guidelines regarding Thriposha are properly set, it can be provided to children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years.
Its chairman Deepthi Kularatne says that there are contradictions regarding the guidelines for the Thriposha given to children, and several rounds of discussions were held with the Ministry of Health.
He adds that no proper answers or solutions have been received.
The Chairman says that a cabinet memorandum in this regard has been submitted by the Ministry of Health for referral to the Parliament, but so far no solution has been provided in this regard either.
Kularatne adds that Thriposha will continue to be provided to pregnant and lactating mothers as well as children above 3 years of age.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited says that the World Health Organization and a private sector organization have provided the necessary ingredients for the production of Triposha.
Its chairman said that for the next few months of this year, the World Food Organization has provided the maize and soybeans required for the production of Triposha.
He adds that the ingredients are currently being received.
