COLOMBO (News 1st); The revised fuel quota will be in effect for another week, announced the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation on Tuesday (18).
Mohamed Uvais Mohamed, the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) said the fuel consumption for the period when the quota was increased will be analyzed to determine if the revised fuel quota will be implemented for the future as well.
He said no decision was made to revise the increased fuel quota.
On the 4th of April, the Ministry of Power and Energy decided to increase the fuel quota for vehicles.
The fuel quota was increased to 8 liters for three-wheelers, and 7 liters for motorcycles.
The fuel quota for buses was increased from 40 liters to 60 liters.
The fuel quota for cars was increased to 30 liters, and the fuel quota for Land Vehicles was increased to 25 liters.
The fuel quota for lorries was increased to 75 liters, while the fuel quota for Vans and Special Purpose Vehicles was increased to 30 liters.
