All nine escapees from Thaldena Prison Rehab center detained

COLOMBO (News 1st); All nine inmates who escaped from the Thaldena Prison Rehabilitation Center in Badulla have been located.

Prison's Spokesperson, Chandana Ekanayake said two of them were detained on Monday (17) morning, and the rest were arrested while hiding around the Thaldena Prison Rehabilitation Center premises.

He said that nine inmates engaged in fasting for the month of Ramadan had fled the premises early on Monday (17) morning.

He said that the inmates were addicted to controlled substances, and were undergoing a rehabilitation process.
