Police record statements from CBSL staff over missing cash

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Fort Police has recorded statements from 15 personnel attached to the Central Bank of the disappearance of Rs. 5 Million from the Central Bank Safe.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has also launched an internal investigation into the incident.

A police investigation is underway to determine if the money was stolen or was it a miscalculation.

According to reports, the money was placed in a safe in the third underground vault of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka that was prepared with the most advanced and secure security systems.
