F1 champ Nelson Piquet fined $1 million for homophobic, racist insults on 7-time F1 champ Lewis Hamilton

Colombo (News 1st) - Three-time Formula 1 champion Nelson Piquet has been fined $1 million by a Brazilian court for homophobic, racist insults on 7-time F1 champ and Mercedes team driver Lewis Hamilton, Brazilian media reported.
The money is to be allocated to funds for the promotion of racial equality and anti-discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community, the court said.
Piquet made the remarks in a 2021 TV interview, which went viral.
