Two people dead in tragic accident in Hatton after bus falls into deep precipice

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two people died, and twenty-six others were injured following an accident in the Hulan-Wanguwa area in Hatton, along the Norton Bridge - Diyagala road on Sunday (19) evening.

Sri Lanka Police said a bus carrying pilgrims on a return journey from Adam's Peak met with the accident at around 9:30 PM.

The bus had veered off the road and fallen into a 100 feet deep precipice in the Hulan-Wanguwa area in Hatton.

Sri Lanka Police said that a group of 30 from Maharagama was in the bus at the time of the accident.

The deceased were identified as two women, and the injured were admitted to the Watawala Regional Hospital, and thereafter to the Nawalapitiya Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
