Colombo (News 1st) - The Guinness World Record title for the world’s largest pizza has reportedly been awarded to a giant 68,000 slice pizza.

Pizza Hut and popular YouTuber, Eric "Airrack" Decker joined forces to make their record-breaking 13,990-square-foot pizza at the Los Angeles Convention Center, which earned recognition from Guinness World Records.

The record-breaking pizza was baked, assembled and unveiled in Los Angeles, California.

In total, 13,653 pounds (6,193 kilograms) of dough, 4,948 pounds of pizza sauce, more than 8,800 pounds of cheese and roughly 630,496 pieces of pepperoni went into making the record-breaking pizza which was baked in pieces.

This 68,000 slice pizza was reportedly donated to food banks, after being documented for Guinness.

The previous Guinness record for the world’s largest pizza was set in 2012 by a group of Italian chefs. Their pizza was 1,261.65 square meters, gluten-free, and given the name Ottavia.
