COLOMBO (News 1st); Two young leopards have been photographed roaming Horton Plains, and the images that surfaced on social media have now gone viral.
Netizens claim that the behaviour of these leopards poses a threat to those visiting Horton Plains.
However, the Director General of Wildlife Chandana Sooriyabandara said that the leopards pose zero threat to the travelers as the photographs were taken at a location where people are forbidden to travel on foot.
He said such behaviour is normal during the mating season of leopards, and there is absolutely no reason to panic.
